Our Story

Alpacka Raft was born based on a collective inspiration—a 600-mile packrafting traverse of Alaska's Brooks Range and a design genius who knew she could make a better-performing packraft. Sheri and Thor Tingey founded Alpacka Raft in the fall of 2000.

Made in the USA

Each Alpacka Raft is handmade to order by a very talented group of makers. Every boat is cut and individually assembled by hand in our workshop nestled at the base of the San Juan Mountains. We take pride in designing packrafts using premium materials that allow you a lifetime of use and adventure driven fun.

Packrafting How-Tos

From inflating your packraft, to in the field repair, or an intro to your whitewater setup, to paddling and river navigation 101 tips, get started in with our education center tutorials.
